YPF announced the construction of a 14-kilometer gas pipeline betweenTrayén and the Añelo plateau to supply gas to the neighborhoods and industries located north of the city. This work will allow the service to reach hundreds of families safely and will expand the infrastructure necessary for the sustainable development of Vaca Muerta.

The announcement was made by YPF’s Vice President of Infrastructure, Gustavo Gallino, during a meeting of the Vaca Muerta Infrastructure Board, in which the governor of Neuquén, Rolando Figueroa, and other operators in the sector also participated. Gallino stated that this work will not only supply gas to the inhabitants of Añelo, but will also create conditions for the installation of new companies and opportunities, contributing to the energy development of Argentina.

Governor Figueroa praised YPF’s initiative, highlighting its contribution to social sustainability, while the mayor of Añelo, Fernando Banderet, stressed the importance of this work for many families’ access to gas and thanked YPF for its commitment.

The executive project of the work, currently being prepared, will include a 6-inch gas pipeline that will connect the Vaca Muerta productive area in the Loma Campana field with the Añelo plateau. This gas pipeline will have the capacity to supply both home consumption and urban growth and will allow the establishment of businesses and companies that use gas, thus boosting the local economy.

The construction of the distribution network and the connections will be the responsibility of the company or organization in charge of the distribution of the service. As they highlighted, with this work, YPF seeks to improve the quality of life and opportunities of the communities where it operates.
