With all the tables scrutinized, the former minister obtained a 88.73% of the votesprevailing over the UDI candidate Erick Gonzalezwhich reached 11.27%.
In this regard, the mayor of the commune, Germán Codina, celebrated the results, describing them as “very auspicious”.
“There was a great participation despite the boycott that even some authorities made in a shameful way. Because if there are important spaces precisely for democracy, they are the ones we had here today. So that it is the people who choose who will be their authorities, despite the cold, despite the water. Impressive how people went to vote the same way,” she said.
Regarding this “boycott”, the communal leader pointed directly against the Ossandón familyspecifically launching his darts against Felipe Ossandón, who is going as an independent candidate, but He still has to gather signatures for the October municipal elections.
“It is unacceptable that someone who wants to be the authority of a commune starts telling people not to participate.when in reality it is evident that we precisely need participation processes so that the authorities do not rule alone (…) there is someone who did not understand anything about what democracy is and Nowadays what this does is just rub it in their faces that what people want are authorities that come from the grassroots. Regarding the future competition for the municipality of Puente Alto between Rubilar and Ossandón, Mayor Codina emphasized that “today the only candidate from Chile Vamos is going to be Karla Rubilar, He is not even registered yet, so I ask that we be more precise. He is not a candidate today, because he has not obtained the necessary signaturesand I hope that if you are going to continue collecting signatures, you comply with the law.”
