Tour of Switzerland 2024: stage 2 route for this Monday

The 2024 Tour de Suisse is preparing for its second stage, a challenging course of 177 kilometers between Vaduz, the capital of Liechtenstein, and Regensdorf, in Switzerland. The day promises emotions for the cyclists and an exciting spectacle for the fans.

The stage will begin in Vaduz, at the foot of the Alps, and will gradually ascend northwards through undulating terrain. The first kilometers will be relatively calm, allowing cyclists to adapt to the pace of the race. However, from kilometer 50 onwards, the route will become more demanding, with a series of short, steep climbs.

The climax of the stage will be Port of Buchberg, a category 2 climb located 839 meters above sea level. This climb, with a maximum slope of 12%, will test the cyclists’ legs and could make the difference in the general classification.

After cresting the Buchberg, cyclists will quickly descend into the Rhine Valley, where they will find flatter terrain favorable to sprinters. However, they should not be overconfident, as the stage still has a couple of short climbs before reaching the finish line in Regensdorf.

Exciting finale expected in Regensdorf, where the sprinters of the peloton will have the opportunity to fight for the stage victory. A fast-paced final sprint is expected, with the peloton looking for the best position to cross the finish line first.
