The Federal Court of Caleta Olivia extended to all locations in Santa Cruz he stop the increase in gas rates, according to a ruling signed by Judge Marta Isabel Yáñez.

This decision reaches residential customerswhile on their side, the SMEs and businessesthrough the Economic Federation of Santa Cruz, presented this Tuesday an injunction to declare the unconstitutionality, nullity and inapplicability of the gas rate increases established by the National Energy Secretariat and Enargas

“I extend the scope of the represented group and the precautionary measure already issued, to the residential users of the gas service of the Province of Santa Cruz in all its localities (both those that are supplied with natural gas through networks, as well as those where ‘liquefied petroleum gas’ is used,” says the measure taken by the judge.

The first ruling on which the judge is based to now extend to the entire province stated a 300% cap on rate increases and it only reached certain localities in the north of the territory.

For companies it is difficult to calculate that 300% limit the increase because users do not always consume the same amount and can change categories.
