The National Civil Protection Coordination (CNPC) reported the formation of the cyclone, which on the afternoon of this Monday, June 17, was located 195 kilometers from Frontera, Tabasco and 235 kilometers northwest of Ciudad del Carmen, Campeche.

It maintains maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour and gusts of up to 85 kilometers per hour, as well as a movement to the north-northeast of 11 kilometers per hour.

It should be noted that Civil Protection considers it to be of low danger, and it is expected to have an impact in the coming days. However, the National Weather Service noted that it is possible that it could evolve into a tropical storm.

According to the Meteorological Service of the National Water Commission (Conagua), this is the forecast for rain in Mexico due to tropical cyclone ‘Uno’:

  • Torrential rains (150 to 250 millimeters): Chiapas, Tabasco, Campeche, Yucatán and Quintana Roo.
  • Heavy rains (75 to 150 millimeters): Oaxaca and Veracruz.
  • Very heavy rains (50 to 75 millimeters): Puebla and Guerrero.
  • Intervals of showers with occasional heavy rains (25 to 50 millimeters): Tamaulipas.
  • Shower intervals (5 to 25 millimeters): Coahuila, Durango, Nayarit, Jalisco, Colima, Michoacán, State of Mexico, Morelos, Hidalgo and San Luis Potosí.
  • Isolated rain (0.1 to 5 millimeters): Sinaloa, Chihuahua, Nuevo León, Zacatecas, Aguascalientes, Guanajuato, Querétaro, Tlaxcala and Mexico City.
