The Estepona City Council informs that next Tuesday, July 2, the celebration of the Estepona Fair and Major Festivals will begin, which will last until Sunday, July 7, which this year will have the television presenter Carlos Sobera as its announcer.
The City Council workers have been working for days on the adaptation of the Fair Park and on the installation of the lighting cover that will welcome visitors. The work will continue with the installation of the attractions and the preparation of the Municipal Booth, where the free concerts will be held.
To announce the start of the fair, the Batucada ‘Bloco Eleguá’, recent winner of the International Batucadas Festival, PERCUmon 2024, will do a parade through the city center on Tuesday afternoon and, then, we will proceed to the reading of the proclamation, by the Bilbao actor and communicator Carlos Sobera. The event will take place at 9:30 p.m., on Avenida de España, and will feature the performance of the singer Esperanza Soria. After the proclamation, the traditional fireworks show will begin, followed by the inauguration and lighting of the fairgrounds.
As for the performance program, the Municipal Booth will host free concerts by artists of different musical styles during the days of the Fair, such as King África, David Barrull, José Ortiz, Miguel Campello, Merche and Las Hermanas Rodes.
As a novelty, people with extreme sensitivity to loud sounds will be able to pick up hearing protectors at the Civil Protection Booth, located at the entrance to the Fairgrounds. In this way they will be able to reduce the effects of auditory exposure during the fair.
Wednesday of the fair will be dedicated to the little ones, who will be able to enjoy a children’s party at 7:00 p.m. with ‘Los Narizotas’ from the Mr. Pollo Circus, at the Municipal Booth. Additionally, attractions will have a 50 percent discount.
On Thursday, July 4, the Senior Party will take place at the Municipal Booth, which will be enlivened by the performance of José Ortiz, participant of the television contest ‘It’s called Copla’.
This year, from Thursday to Saturday, you can enjoy a free horse-drawn carriage ride every afternoon, stopping at the Municipal Booth.
On the other hand, from Friday to Sunday, between 12:00 and 20:00, the Horse Walk at the Fairgrounds will remain open for all horse riders, who are recommended to be dressed in Andalusian clothing and with their horse decorated.
Fans of the equine world have an appointment on Sunday, July 7 at the VII Andalusian Harnessing Competition. It will take place on the Horse Walk at the fairgrounds and awards will be given to the best dressed horses and riders in each category: Rider, Young Rider, Veteran Rider, Couple and Amazon.
And finally, the Plaza de Toros will host the traditional fair bullfight on Sunday, which this year, as usual, will have an exceptional line-up. 6 bulls from the prestigious Hermanos García Jiménez and Olga Jiménez ranch will be fought, by the greatest bullfighting figures that have come out of the Puerta del Príncipe in Seville: Morante, Castella and Roca Rey.
