After having fought in intensive care, Lorenzo Somaschini died at just 9 years old. The young Argentine rider had accidented last Friday, June 14, during training for Date 4 of the Brazilian Superbike Championship.

The one who confirmed this sad news was Super Bike Brasil itself, which, in an official statement, reported: “The Argentine rider, born in Rosario, entered the Albert Einstein Hospital, was under intensive medical care and unfortunately did not resist.”

In turn, he commented that comprehensive support was given to the driver’s family from the moment of the accident, which occurred when Lorenzo Somaschini suffered a fall during the first free practice session of the Jr. Cup at the Interlagos Autodrome.

What happened after the accident that took the life of Lorenzo Somaschini

From the organization they explained that “when he fell at the exit of Pinheirinho, the pilot was treated on the spot by the medical team in an ICU ambulance.” Then, he “was sent to the circuit emergency room, where he was stabilized.”

“After this procedure, the medical transfer was carried out in an advanced support unit to the Pedreira General Hospital, where he remained until Saturday, following all medical protocols until he was referred to the Albert Einstein Hospital,” they reported.

In communicating this sad news, SuperBike Brasil dedicated a few words to this difficult moment: “Everyone on the team is dismayed by the event, and expresses their sincere condolences to all of Lorenzo’s family and friends.”

For his part, the instructor of this little promise, Diego Pierluigi, on his Instagram account stated: “With my heart broken and my soul thrown away, I have to say goodbye to you. I’m going to miss you a lot, Lolito. Thank you for letting me be part of your dream. Rest in peace, champion.”
