An Australian influencer captured the touching moment she was reunited with her cat after it was “stolen by someone she knows.”
Gold Coast model Olivia Mathers broke down in tears as she hugged her beloved Bengal cat called Haukie, who had been missing for two months.
In a post shared on her Instagram account, Olivia said she couldn’t be more grateful to those who helped in the search for the feline.
‘HE’S AT HOME !!!! After 2 months of helplessness, a beautiful couple not far from home posted about a frequent visit to Bengal. The photo was definitely Haukie,’ he captioned his post.
‘We got to work for the last three days, walking the streets, keeping an eye on the house, holding on to new hope. Tonight she followed our voices and ran back to me!!!!’

In a post shared on her Instagram account, Olivia said she couldn’t be more grateful to those who helped in the search for the feline.
Olivia added: “It turns out that the lady who saw her was our kind teacher (and the kindest soul you could imagine), a touching coincidence that made the reunion that much more surreal.”
“Thank you to everyone who helped and stayed relevant while we searched for answers.”
Last month, Olivia made a desperate appeal to her 763,000 Instagram followers asking them to keep an eye out for the feline named Haukie.
Speaking to Daily Mail Australia at the time, Olivia said she simply wanted answers and for her “acquainted” to come home.

Last month, Olivia made a desperate appeal to her 763,000 Instagram followers asking them to keep an eye out for the feline named Haukie.
“Malibu (my dog) and I are missing 3kg of sass at home and we can’t wait to get it back,” she said.
Olivia shared several photos of the four-year-old Bengal cat she has had on Instagram since moving house, revealing that she was “captured” on Saturday, April 27.
“It is true that they have taken Haukie,” he wrote along with two photographs of his pet.
‘We think they are trying to sell it. Keep an eye on the markets in general.’
Shortly after, Olivia revealed that she had “found” the people who stole her pet.
Olivia shared several photos on Instagram of the four-year-old Bengal cat she has had since moving house.
He said the alleged thieves, who claimed to have “found” the cat, have been changing their story.
“We have a timeline of events and substantial evidence that they have done something with her,” he said.
“They deflect, reject information and are horribly inconsistent with their story in the face of any direct attempt to get answers.”
Olivia shared a text message exchange between a person who said Haukie was dropped off at a pound in Coombabah on the day he disappeared.
But when the model arrived at the kennel, the staff had no record that she had been left.
‘Can you confirm what day she was dropped off and when she was dropped off?’ Olivia asked the person via text, before asking for confirmation that she had the correct pound.
The Gold Coast model said her Bengal cat was ‘kidnapped’ on Saturday, April 27.
Olivia said she thinks she knows who stole her cat or who is involved in her disappearance.
The person responded confirming that it was the correct place, claiming that his father left the cat and a woman who worked there said that the staff would “look for a chip to contact the owner.”
In a later message, the person claimed that the cat never made it into the kennel and escaped from the car before his father dropped him off.
“I talked to my father and he didn’t tell me, but when he went to get the cat out of the car, it ran away and got scared and didn’t tell me,” the person wrote.
In her post, Olivia asked her followers and Queenslanders to keep an eye out for their beloved family pet.
“Please share it to keep the voice going while his disappearance is still fresh,” he pleaded in his caption.
Olivia shared a text message exchange between a person who said Haukie was dropped off at a pound in Coombabah on the day he disappeared. But when the model arrived at the kennel, the staff had no record that she had been left.

He also said Queensland Police were notified “but no action has yet been taken” and he now believes the cat was sold and taken to Brisbane.
Last Wednesday, Olivia said she is offering a reward for “any sufficient information,” as well as Haukie’s return.
Purebred Bengal cats cost over $2,000 and are a popular breed known for their high intelligence, loyal personality, and thick, spotted coat.

Health influencer Ashy Bines also shared her own experience when her cat was stolen.
“I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I will continue to share it, my heart breaks for you,” she said.
“Someone stole my cat years ago and I never got it back, so I know the feeling and it’s heartbreaking. I send you strength.’
