Ten students from IES Ibn al Baytar in Benalmádena (Málaga) have been recognized by the North American space agency, NASA, for find ten asteroids during a research project.

After congratulating the boys and girls from the City Council, the mayor of Education added that this institute has carried out a reference workshop beyond the municipality, “with an international project in which these wonderful students have achieved a great discovery, which demonstrates the professional quality of the teaching staff and the high level of the students“, being for our government team a pride to have these students in our municipality.”

The IES Ibn al Baytar workshop coordinated by Pérez and Ramos, pursues encourage interest in astronomy, participating in a search that, in this case, has given great results. “The students have dedicated a lot of time to this extracurricular activity, as well as at home, taking hours of their free time to find asteroids,” they noted.
