Angel Ricardo Domijan, director of the gas network in the province of San Juan, gave details in Cien por Hora about the gas installation and adaptation work in educational establishments in the province. Despite the winter, the work continues, with several establishments still pending connection in Greater San Juan.

Domijan explained that they have been left enabled 8 of the 24 planned schools and that they continue working daily to enable the remaining 16. “So far we have managed to leave 8 enabledwe continue working every day to enable the other 16 remaining ones,” he stated.

Regarding establishments located in areas served by Eco Gas, which also date back more than a year, work is being done to comply with the regulations established in 2019/2020. This regulation requires that all educational establishments be in optimal conditions. The pandemic suspended inspections, but they were later resumed, and now there are around 55 establishments pending adaptation.

Domijan also mentioned the work in schools in remote areas such as Iglesia, Sarmiento and Caucete, where work began approximately 15 days ago. “It was done through tenders and companies started working,” Indian.

The director highlighted the importance of keeping the facilities in good condition and requested the collaboration of directors, teachers and students to avoid damage. “Maintenance is expensive. We need collaboration so that the facilities are taken care of“, said.

Domijan also addressed the recent incident in the gas network, where a drilling almost left the province without supply. He explained that these types of incidents, although rare, can occur due to a lack of caution. “They are issues of easements that are requested when the gas pipelines pass. It is a little bit of people’s unconsciousness,” he commented. He added that it is vital that people take the necessary precautions to prevent these problems from recurring.

The gas network is properly signposted, and the distributor takes measures to guarantee safe supply. However, Domijan stressed the need for greater awareness among the population to prevent similar incidents in the future.
