The town brought together almost 130 athletes from various parts of the province, which consolidated the success of a discipline that adds followers day after day.
On Sunday, in an atmosphere of friendship and camaraderie, almost 130 athletes from all over the province participated in the second date of the Duathlon Circuit, organized by the departmental coordinator of the Sports Secretariat in San Martín, Cristina Godoy, and sponsored by the municipality. from Villa de Prague, where the race was held.
This duathlon consisted of a challenging course that combined 5 kilometers of jogging, 20 kilometers of cycling, and another 5 kilometers of jogging. The competition was divided into two shifts: in the morning the individual categories ran, while after noon it was time for the relays. The participants, whose ages ranged from 20 to 70 years old, were classified into six different categories.
This second date of the circuit followed in the footsteps of the first day held in Las Chacras, in April, which also had a massive participation of athletes. “This event not only promotes physical activity and sports in the province, but also promotes local tourism and commerce in the host communities,” Godoy celebrated.
The departmental coordinator already has her sights set on the third and final date of the circuit, scheduled for end of August in La Vertiente. There the winners of the general table and the champions of the provincial circuit will be known.
“We want this Circuit to become an example of the commitment that San Luis has to sports and healthy living, offering local athletes a platform to show their skills and foster the competitive spirit in a friendly environment,” added Godoy. who also thanked Inspector Commissioner Edgar Guzmán “for the great work carried out to close the streets and guarantee the safety of the participants,” as well as the health personnel of the local hospital and the municipal authorities.
