The gas supply in Salta is not at risk after the coup attempt in Bolivia

The attempted coup d’état in Bolivia this Wednesday brought concern not only to the Bolivian people, but also to the provinces of northern Argentina.

The thing is that, a few days ago, it was announced that the neighboring country will be in charge, temporarily, of the supply of natural gas for the NOA region during the months of August and September, during the high consumption season in winter.

However, in dialogue with the Salta radio station FM Profesional, the Salta journalist based in the neighboring country, Fernando ”Turco” Berdeja, reassured the authorities of Salta with this issue, and pointed out that bilateral agreements are untouchable, and They will be respected.

Berdeja explained that the agreements are not at risk due to Argentina’s great need, not only as a part of demand, but also as a part of supply, given the “lack of fresh money and payment in dollars” for the internal economic flow.

The agreement between Energía Argentina and Yacimientos Petroliferos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB) provides for the supply of up to 4 million cubic meters per day (MMm3/day) of natural gas, depending on internal demand.
