The incident was captured by a surveillance camera, when a police motorcycle, on which non-commissioned officers Pierre Baldera Damián and Julio César Quispe were traveling, collided with a truck at the intersection of Miguel Iglesias Avenue and Pedro Silva Street.

The strong impact caused Baldera Damián to be ejected from the motorcycle, landing on the roof of the vehicle.

San Juan de Miraflores: Fire in clandestine warehouse leaves a girl dead

A 3-year-old girl died after a fire broke out in her home, located in the Los Álamos sector, in the San Juan de Miraflores district. The minor’s father suffered serious burns and is fighting for his life in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Arzobispo Loayza Hospital.

According to the minor’s mother, the tragedy occurred after a gas cylinder exploded inside the building. She blames Reinaldo Arévalo Mendoza, a worker who is dedicated to recycling and who had irresponsibly manipulated a gas bottle. According to her testimony, the man tried to remove the remains of copper from the gas bottle with hammer blows. That would have caused a gas leak that spread throughout the house.

At that moment, the father of the family and his daughter turned on the kitchen, which caused an explosion.

“Those responsible are those who manipulated the gas bottle. “They did not have authorization to do so because this gas bottle is approved by Osinergmin,” said a neighbor, who called on the authorities to investigate the case.

As recalled, around noon on June 24, a large fire generated great alarm among residents of the Los Álamos area. The fire, which spread quickly, affected up to three floors of the building, causing significant material damage and forcing the evacuation of nearby residents.

The fire originated on the second floor of the house, which operated as a clandestine recycling depot.
