The telematics engineer from the UPCT Víctor Ruiz Amor is the beneficiary of one of the two tuition scholarships that the Polytechnic University of Cartagena has awarded this year for the completion of industrial doctorates. In his case, he will carry out his doctoral thesis as an employee of the company Nutricontrol, where he will develop Internet of Things (IoT) technologies adapted to wireless networks of agricultural sensors and actuators.

“It is very interesting to be able to make a fully functional prototype for the market and implement it in the company’s products,” highlights the Bullense engineer, who will receive an annual aid of 500 euros for up to four academic years while still enrolled in the International Doctoral School. of the UPCT.

The objective of his thesis, directed by Alejandro Martínez Sala, is to optimize IoT technologies to internationalize its products, achieve coverage ranges of more than one kilometer, reduce latency in communications to less than a minute, as well as reduce energy consumption. and the costs of these facilities.

Nutricontrol has 30 years of experience in the design and R&D of monitoring devices, remote node devices, and irrigation and climate control equipment. It has its own product research and development department.
