Former President of the United States Donald Trump has prepared for the debate with the current president, Joe Biden, through the teachings of Don Kinga boxing promoter who has courted Trump votes in the black community. Both are wealthy businessmen with an ‘America First’ vision (a classic Trump rant) and both have been convicted: Don King, for murder in the 1960s. He killed his partner over debt and was in prison for almost four years.
Likewise, Trump and King have maintained a friendship for more than three decades, marked by a mutual admiration for his business skills and his focus on financial success over racial issues. His close circles say that “If Trump had been born black, he would be Don King.”
King, who has been active in politics, now openly supports Trump, arguing that the democratic system is corrupt and that Trump is the only option to dismantle it from within. Despite the controversy surrounding King, his influence among the black community cannot be overlooked. Some see in him an example of success against all odds, while others criticize his lack of scruples in his pursuit of profit.
For Trump, King represents a figure who knows how to “make money when others lose it”a quality that has attracted the president since they began collaborating in the 1990s, organizing boxing fights at Trump’s casinos.
