Luz Elena Gonzalez Escobar will act as Secretary of Energy in the government of Claudia Sheimbaum.
Who is Luz Elena González?
González Escobar is an economist from UNAM and has two master’s degrees: one in Law from the Technological University and another in Urban Planning from the University of Catalonia.
“She knows energy issues, she helped us a lot in the CDMX government as Secretary of Finance, which is also an important issue in the coordination of the Secretary of Energy with Pemex and CFE, and she helped coordinate the photovoltaic panel project. in the supply center,” highlighted Claudia Sheinbaum, virtual president-elect of Mexico, in a conference this Thursday.
Curriculum and experience
Since 2018 and until June 6, González Escobar served as Secretary of Administration and Finance of the capital government.
González Escobar will replace Miguel Ángel Maciel in the Sener starting in October, when Claudia Sheinbaum takes office as president of Mexico.
“The task will be to guarantee energy security, but also energy equity. The country’s energy resources are fundamental for the development and future of Mexico,” said the future federal official upon leaving the conference where she was announced for the post.
