The session began in the Chamber of Deputies where the ruling party is preparing to sanction the Bases Law with all the changes introduced by the Senate; and the fiscal package, with three insistences (on the Income Tax, Personal Assets and cut in tax spending), accepting the rest of the changes of the Upper House.

Minutes before the start of the special session, Myriam Bregman and Romina Del Plá resigned, but this type of move is not new. It is part of the rotating banking system that the Left Front has been using for years.

Vanina Biasi and Mónica Schlotthauer were the ones who took the oath of office and during their respective speeches, they defended Palestine and the picket movement.

“For the women and diversity movement, for my piquetero brothers and sisters, who are a source of pride in solidarity and struggle; for all the rights of the working class; for ending capitalist barbarism in this world; for the end of genocide in Palestine; for a workers’ government; and for socialism,” Biasi said at the time of her swearing-in.

Schlotthauer said: “For the memory of the 30,000 missing people, and my comrades of the PST; for the children, women and the Palestinian people, who resist the genocide of the state of Israel; for those of us who fight against the chainsaw plan of (Javier) Milei; for a working class government and socialism in Argentina and in the world.”
