What time is the US presidential debate and how to watch Biden and Trump in their first face-to-face of 2024

Here are all the details on how you can watch the Biden-Trump presidential debate, What time will it be and what are the rules that will apply.

It will be broadcast live at 9:00 PM ET from CNN studios in Atlanta.

Univision Noticias will also broadcast the debate between Biden and Trump:

in TV Univision Noticias will begin a special at 8:50 pm ET on Thursday. Following the debate, a special analysis will be broadcast until 12:00 AM.

The channel announced that it will broadcast it live on all its platforms:

The debate will be hosted by Jake Tapper and Dana Bash, both CNN anchors.

Trump and Biden bypassed the Commission on Presidential Debates and opted for earlier debates organized by media outlets.

The first CNN debate will be followed by another, scheduled for September 10, organized by the ABC network.

To qualify, Kennedy needed to have 15% in four national polls and be officially on the ballots of enough states to win the at least 270 Electoral College votes needed to become president.

Kennedy, whose candidacy has little chance of victory, would have had the opportunity to face Biden and Trump before an audience of millions of viewers. Kennedy had accused CNN of conspiring with the Biden and Trump campaigns to exclude him, something the network denies.

The Biden and Trump campaigns prefer to keep the independent candidate out of the discussion, because several analyses indicate that he is ‘taking away’ votes from both of them.

According to CNN, Trump and Biden agreed to the rules and format of the debate.

• How long will the presidential debate last? 90 minutes, CNN reported.

• There will be two commercial breaks and the campaign cannot speak to its candidate during the breaks. There will be no opening statements from Biden or Trump, although a closing statement from both is expected. The debate will be without an audience in the studio.

• Candidates would have two minutes to answer each question, followed by answers and the right to reply.

• To try to ensure a ‘civil and orderly debate’, Biden and Trump’s microphones will be muted and will only be activated when it is their time to speak.

• Written notes will not be allowed on stage, although you will have papers and a pen to take notes.
