The decision is due to a tradition of bench rotation that the Left Front has sustained since its formation, so that the different political parties that make up the alliance have the opportunity to be protagonists of the parliamentary function.

The head of the Unión por la Patria bloc, Germán Martínez, asked for a strong applause for Bregman and Del Plá, whom he recognized for their “outstanding work” during the years in which they were part of the body.

Bregman, a leading figure in the PTS, had headed the FIT legislative list in 2021 for the City of Buenos Aires, followed by Fernando Ramal (Workers’ Party).

In light of gender parity, it is not Ramal who replaces her but the third on the list, Vanina Biasi (Partido Obrero), who swore her seat “for socialism and the liberation of Palestine”, among other slogans.

Biasi is leader of the Bordó group of non-teachers at the UBA and leader of the women and diversities movement.

In the case of Del Plá (Partido Obrero), she had entered 2021 as second on the list headed by Nicolás Del Caño (PTS).

Third on that list was Néstor Pitrola (Workers’ Party), but as a result of the gender parity criterion, it is Schlotthauer (Socialist Left) who replaces Del Plá.

Representative of the Socialist Left, she is 60 years old, and was already a national deputy for two short periods between 2019 and 2021.

She was a delegate and part of the ATSA management in the 80s, and she would later be a railway delegate on the Sarmiento line.
