The Government postponed the increases in electricity, gas and fuel prices

The Government made the decision not to increase electricity and gas rates for residential users during the month of July. The measure also covers fuels. In the case of Tucumán, the EDET tickets will arrive with the increases announced by the company.

Official sources attributed the measure to the search for consolidation of the disinflation process and the recovery of the population’s purchasing power.

Regarding fuels, the Ministry of Economy ordered that the tax rate on fuel increases by 1%. In the month of August, consumers must add to that 1% the increase determined by the oil companies. It is presumed that this increase would range between 3 and 5%.

Regarding energy rates, the postponement applies, for the moment for the month of July, considering that there will be greater consumption due to seasonality. On this occasion, it is important to highlight that the province of Tucumán is not included.

The electricity distribution company in Tucumán (EDET) is not governed by values stipulated by the national government, but by the local control entity. In this way, the seasonal increase in the rate (which has been in effect since June 19) will come as planned for the people of Tucumán.
