“Take the camera to the bathroom”

Isaac Fouto is one of the most prominent journalists on the current Spanish sports scene. A member of the Cadena COPE team for the last two decades, he trained on the Mérida frequency thanks to a scholarship, before moving to the Madrid newsroom. His good work has made him one of the most regular faces and voices on air, but this Thursday he gained notoriety for an unfortunate comment on the Internet.

It happened during a broadcast on Twitch by sports commentator Rubén Martín, in the company of fellow communicator Irene Junquera. During an instance of the program, the journalist points out that she must go to the bathroom and disconnects the camera, to which Fouto insists that she take it to the bathroom and asks why she doesn’t do it, to the point that a colleague asks her if she would do the same. with him and points out that he has done “a textbook Rubiales.”

Despite Fouto’s subsequent comment, asking “don’t get me into trouble,” the images have spread quickly through platforms such as X (Twitter). The videos have accumulated more than 750,000 views and added a multitude of comments, contrary to the journalist’s derogatory words. “This man is shameful, on top of that he has the balls to say not to get into trouble, when he was the one who did it…”, noted one user.

Marc Mestres

“It’s a comment that, even if you make it in private, people would look at you strangely and the guy says it live,” “On top of that, the thief says to shut up, that they’re going to get him into trouble. I guess his bosses at COPE won’t have been very amused” and “The one who called him textbook Rubiales bravo (and by the way, what he has done is called sexual harassment in the work environment and is grounds for dismissal even in the RFEF)” were other notable replicas.

Another controversy in the history

This is not the first time that a Twitch broadcast has put Fouto in trouble in recent months. In March, the Extremadura native had a strong clash with Siro López on COPE’s El Partidazo. The reason was the various videos published by Real Madrid TV about the refereeing appointments to the white club at the time when the alleged connection between FC Barcelona and José María Enríquez Negreira, former vice president of the technical committee of referees, took place.

Siro pointed directly to Fouto after he asked, with “names and surnames”, to reveal who compared Barça’s alleged payments to Negreira and the RMTV videos. The one from Mérida acted immediately, asking the Madrid native to withdraw his comment while López insisted: “Don’t get nervous, calm down. Don’t worry, Tebas is going to continue calling you on the phone.” Finally, the journalist ended up leaving the broadcast.
