Paramount’s “A Quiet Place: Day One” set a new trailer record for the franchise on Thursday, grossing $6.8 million.

But Disney/Pixar’s “Inside Out 2” is likely to hold onto its No. 1 spot with its impressive run over the past two weeks, earning $101 million in its second weekend — the lowest total earned over the past year. The film opened with more than $150 million. Today, the film surpasses the $857 million earned worldwide by its 2015 predecessor and will hit $1 billion worldwide on July 4.
