A shocking road accident took place this Friday on the National Route where two vehicles collided head-on, resulting in four people being urgently sent to Río Grande.
The accident was reported at kilometer 2920, involving a Toyota Corolla and a Chevrolet Prisma. After colliding head-on, both vehicles were left literally destroyed and unrecognizable at the front.
Numerous emergency units were present and reported that a man, a woman and a 12-year-old child (son) were traveling on board the Toyota, while an adult man was traveling in the Chevrolet.
With health personnel arriving from Tolhuin, first aid tasks were carried out at the site; medical personnel from the Puente Justicia Post and the Modular Hospital attended.
The people were then transferred to the Rio Grande Regional Hospital for better care, resulting in all the occupants with injuries of varying degrees.
The Tolhuin Police Station acted jointly with members of the Scientific Police Division; no information has been provided so far regarding the health status of the people transferred to the hospital.
