‘The End of the F***ing World’ (2019)
The British know very well how to combine humor and violence in the best of ways and The End of the F***ing World is the best example. Based on the comics by Charles Forsman, it tells the curious relationship between James and Alyssa, two young people who end up together without really knowing why. The only thing that unites them is that they have nothing in common with the rest of the world. James seeks to kill a human being because he wants to know what it feels like. You will have the opportunity to do so when they arrive at the house of a strange man who appears to be a serial killer.
A fiction different from everything you know and that looks like you would drink a glass of cold water in the middle of August.
‘Bonding’ (2021)
With episodes that do not reach 20 minutes and thanks to its humorous tone, Bonding It is another perfect option to watch if you don’t have much time to dedicate to television series. It had two seasons before being canceled -unfortunately for its many followers-, but don’t be fooled by the company’s decision, its 15 episodes are worth it.
It focuses on Tiff, a psychology student who works as a dominatrix. She needs an assistant and entrusts the position to Pete, her best friend since high school.. Pete immerses himself in Tiff’s world of sadomasochism and BDSM without much idea but wanting to finally have some balance in his life.
‘My Sweet Girl’ (2023)
We cannot ignore that we live in the midst of the thriller boom and that Netflix knows perfectly the ingredients necessary to make an intriguing story hook the viewer from the first moment. One of the latest additions to this category is My sweet little girla German-produced thriller series that reached the platform’s Top 10 without breaking a sweat.
Through 6 episodes – lasting 50 minutes or less – we learn Lena’s story, a woman who has been held captive in a house with her two children. Their routine was established by the man who had them imprisoned. One day he manages to escape from that plot, but while fleeing from it he suffers an almost fatal accident.
