As soon as he entered the program, to which he was late due to his previous professional commitments, Pablo Motos took the opportunity to ask him about Pedro Sanchez and the letter he issued this Wednesday afternoon, where questioned his continuity as president of the Government. The information about his wife, Begoña Gómez, among other things, has been one of the reasons that has led her to rethink his position.
In addition, Sánchez announced that it will be next Monday, April 29, when he will communicate his final decision. Vallés spoke in these terms about Pedro’s decision. “The reality is that it is not usually common for a president to do this, not so much that he writes a letter addressed to the citizens, but that he communicates to the citizens that he has to reflect. I believe that there is no similar case,” he began by saying.

“(…) We are in a country situation politically in limbo with a president who does not know if after Monday he will continue to be one and not only does he not know, but he tells us that he does not know. This is a novelty. Normally, they announce it to you without telling you that they are thinking about it (…) There are two aspects that he might want to achieveone who at this time is talking more about the letter than about his wife’s judicial problem and then, there is a closing of ranks among his people,” he continued.
To the question about whether he thinks he will stay as president, Vallés answered very bluntly that “I wasn’t going to say anything about that.”. “(…) If he leaves, he would not necessarily have to call elections, he can leave and present another socialist to an investiture in Congress. Right now we are in limbo“, he ended up saying.
