Historical figures from Channel 8 reviewed anecdotes at the 60th anniversary celebration

On May 2, 1964, businessman Jorge Enrique Estornell made his dream come true: he was born Channel 8 of San Juana medium that has informed and entertained different generations of San Juan residents.

In celebration of its first 60 years, The first channel in the Province is developing special programming with the participation of communicators and journalists who at some point passed through its screen.

From very early on, under the leadership of Mario Fernández and Bárbara Ardanaz, Nina Galván, Alejandro Flores, Juan Carlos Bataller, María Silvia Martín, Adriana Luluaga, Gustavo Martínez Quiroga, Carolina Muñoz, Guillermo Juárez, José ‘Ñato’ España and other figures of San Juan communication They reviewed anecdotes from the years in which they had to be on the Channel 8 screen.

“In 1968 I had to get in front of the camera by chance. The person who was going to do an interview left and I, who was in production, stood in front of the screen. I had to interview some psychiatrists who had come from Buenos Aires. I have to admit that that first time I felt afraid,” said Nina Galván, remembering her debut.

Adriana Luluaga, meanwhile, also had to delve into her memory to share words about her beginnings: “Being part of history, what a weight. This year marks 40 years since my premiere on television. I started in FemeNina, led by Nina Galván, in 1984 and years later I had my first program called Primer Plano.”

Alejandro Flores also contributed his memory. “You don’t work on a channel, you live on the channel. I had to live through very intense years, going through historical episodes such as the ‘sanjuaninazo’, the ‘chancha’ burned in Plaza 25 de Mayo and others. They were nice challenges,” commented the journalist with a voice filled with nostalgia and the time spent on the channel that has been part of Grupo América for a few years.
