Greg Daniels creates new mockumentary set in a dying newspaper
After months of noise since the possibility began to be rumored, the green light has finally been given for the return of ‘The Office’… or, well, a spin-off. The American platform Peacock has announced that it will soon begin production on a new series set in the universe of the famous paper mill and that will feature the creator of the American version, Greg Daniels.
Still untitled, this new series will follow the documentary team that immortalized the Dunder Mifflin offices in Scranton for so many years in search of a new subject for a new documentary when they discover a dying man. Midwestern newspaper whose editor tries to get ahead with volunteer journalists.
“The Newsroom”
As has been known for a few weeks, they will be Domhnall Gleeson (who already co-starred with Steve Carell in ‘The Patient’) and Sabrina Impacciatore (one of the “mvp” of season 2 of ‘The White Lotus’) who lead the main cast of this new comedy. However, the details of their characters have not emerged.
On the other hand, along with Daniels this new “The Office” will feature Michael Koman (‘Nathan for You’) as co-creator. The series will go into production this coming July so it is quite likely that we will see it relatively soon in streaming… another thing is that the way Peacock things are arriving in Spain we will see it with some speed compared to its broadcast American.
