The death of his father was the key moment, he was the man “who helped him grow,” as he himself put it, and being the youngest of the brothers he had to shoulder the responsibility of assuming a new role: “ I, being the youngest, beyond my older brother, I felt like I had to be the man of the house.. I’m not saying that he wasn’t, but I feel that when my dad is gone, maybe that task fell to me.”
“Not for the fact of going out to work or anything, and much less, because my mother, thank God, has given me everything and I have never lacked anything and nor did she let me lack anything, it is reality, and she has always done everything possible. But They are all those guilts that I have on top of me, in my head, for the fact that I don’t know if I am the best son I could have had.. I think that today she should be proud of how she has seen me grow. I left without thinking about whether I was going to come back and maybe that also makes me feel a lot of guilt, because obviously I left her alone,” Manzana continued.
