There is no doubt that Korean dramas (popularly known as K-dramas) have been conquering television and streaming platforms in recent years. Titles like My adorable liar (My Lovely Liar), Woo, lawyer extraordinaire (Extraordinary Attorney Woo) either Love is like cha-cha (Hometown Cha Cha Cha) are clear examples of this trend. Furthermore, one of its exponents is the actor Song Kang30 years old, who has starred in some of the most popular titles.

On this occasion, we are going to review some dramas starring Song Kang.

We will start our selection with Navilleraa series released in 2021. The plot follows Shim Deok-school (embodied by Park In-hwan), a 70-year-old retiree who, after facing various situations in his life, decides to pursue his dream of becoming a ballet dancer. In his classes, he meets Lee Chae-roka 23-year-old young man played by Song Kangwho enters the world of ballet after experimenting with various sports and being motivated by a tragic personal loss.

This project, available at Netflixstands out for its ability to emotionally (and sometimes distressingly) portray how cultural, social, and personal pressures can prevent us from pursuing our true passions throughout life. Navillera offers a moving portrait of second chances, exploring the generational clash between its protagonists and how, despite their differences, a genuine friendship emerges between them, marked by mutual support and active listening.

We continue with my adorable demon, a romantic and fantasy drama, a combination that is often quite recurrent in Korean productions. Throughout 16 chapters, this audiovisual addresses a mysterious romance, focusing on Do Do-heea conceited and capricious young woman who must find the ideal person to arrange her marriage and thus be able to access her immense inheritance.

In her search, the heiress encounters Go Woon, a demonic figure who has spent years hating humans. However, in a sudden moment, he loses all of his powers and, to avoid death, he must become close to Do Do-hee, which will lead him to wonder if he is capable of feeling love. Next to Kang, The cast is completed with Kim Yoo-jung (The street rookie, Love under the moonlight), Lee Sang-yi (hounds), Kim Hae-sook (The monster of old Seoul), Kim Tae-hoon (An unfamiliar family) and Jo Hye-joo (Such a beautiful love), among others.

Finally, in this brief tour, we have The inclemencies of love. This series is the most adult of our selection, since it follows the lives of the workers of the Korea Meteorological Administration, who must investigate one of the countries with the most extreme climates. However, what is interesting is to see how it portrays the difficulty of combining work and love life when both aspects are very demanding.

On the one hand, we have Jin Ha-Kyung (interpreted by Park Min-young), an ambitious young woman who dedicates herself completely to her work, like her partner Lee Shi-Woo (embodied by Song Kang). On the other hand, it is interesting to see how both of them constantly fight with their partners because they pay more attention to their professional passions than to their relationships. The drama not only chronicles the lives of various characters within the company, but also compares their emotional ups and downs to weather phenomena, creating an analogy between extreme weather and the complexities of their love lives.
