The actor recognizes that part of his sense of humor has been based on the animated series starring Homer

We all have a friend (or if you don’t have that friend, it’s probably you) who has a large list of pending series and always ends up watching the same ones for one reason or another, and we all also have someone in our lives who knows The Simpsons inside out and can even express it with their gags. Daniel Radcliffe, actor who gave life to Harry Potter, fits both descriptions.

“It makes sense that our generation continues watching cartoons”

The well-known British actor, in a talk collected by CBR, acknowledges that he has not seen some of the best series in history because of The Simpsons.

I have never seen Breaking Bad. I’ve never seen The Sopranos or The Wire. All this kind of one-hour stuff that’s heavy. I just can’t… I think it’s probably partly because I grew up with The Simpsons, like most kids of our generation. I was watching Jeopardy! the other day and one of the contestants gave a lot of credit to his encyclopedic knowledge of The Simpsons. That happens to me too. “A lot of things, from my general knowledge of the world to my sense of humor, have been shaped in some way by The Simpsons.”

“I think a lot of BoJack Horseman would be too bleak and sad if he weren’t a talking horse.”

In fact, Radcliffe has already been part of animated dubs of this type of series, including his favorite, BoJack Horseman: “I think a lot of BoJack Horseman would be too bleak and sad if it weren’t a talking horse. The classic example is Homer strangling Bart in The Simpsons. In a live-action series it’s a horrendous act of child abuse with nothing funny about it, while in here is a ‘running gag’and it’s funny because of what Bart’s neck does.”

Finally, and to give some more context to the topic, the actor explains that he believes that having grown up with these types of drawings, people want to continue seeing them: “It makes sense that our generationwho has grown up with The Simpsons, I want to continue watching more cartoons adults as they grow.

In 3DGames | “Who wouldn’t want to see another movie?” The Simpsons showrunner would love to see them on the big screen, but he admits doing so would not be an easy task.

In 3DGames | The Simpsons have plenty of time and want to extend their animated series to at least 1,000 episodes
