The race of Tamara Falco continues to reach new ground on television. The “marquise” is the star addition of Got Talent for its tenth edition, occupying a position left vacant by Edurne, present from the very beginning of the format in Spain and who closed the stage to head to Antena 3. The daughter of Isabel Preyslerwho precisely continues as a collaborator of The Anthillarrives making it clear that he has not “come to compete with her”, whom he defines as a great professional, and makes it clear what his great asset is: “I contribute my vision, which you already know is a bit particular.”.

The aristocrat had already served as a judge in The challenge from Antena 3, assessing the willingness of celebrities to take on extreme challenges; in Got Talent, on the other hand, will have to determine if the skills of the anonymous applicants are worthy of achieving television glory. “There are people who get on stage who have a lot of merit, even if their talent as such is not impressive,” Falcó comments to verTele, who values having grown up “in it business show” to give an overview of the program. produced by Fremantle She does not share other talents with his family, such as singing, she jokes: “That stayed in the Iglesias gene”.

“I don’t ask for your forgiveness. [en caso de dar un ‘no’], because in the end I give my opinion and the rest of my colleagues give theirs. It is not up to me whether they are eliminated or not,” says Falcó, who is delighted with the experience to date recording the tenth edition of a program in which, she emphasizes, “there were cakes to enter.” “They asked me if I would be excited, but there were several possible judges”.

Why did you decide to sign for ‘Got Talent’? Were they begging you a lot?

No, what’s up! Begging no. In fact, there were cakes to get into the program after Edurne left. In fact, they asked me if I would be excited, but there were a lot of people. I don’t know who, but there were several possible judges. I feel very lucky to be here.

What do you think you bring to the program as a judge?

What do I contribute? My vision, which you already know is a bit particular [risas]

What catches your attention about an applicant when you see them on stage? Is there any discipline or talent that calls you the most?

The truth is that there have been talents of all kinds, which I couldn’t even expect. For example, very unique people have come, whose gift was to make clicks. People of all kinds have come, and then people who surprise you a lot. There is a lot of Spanish talent… We have seen a bit of all kinds, but I love the circus or dance numbers or singing, all those things caught my attention a lot. But I have discovered some brutal talents here.

Edurne is fantastic, she is a great professional, and I have not come to compete with her

Are you one to say yes?

Getting on stage has its own thing. For me, for example, little people especially who when they climb up make me feel touched.

When you have to say “no,” what technique do you use? Do you soften it or use a euphemism?

What the program directors explained to me is that I need to argue my no, to serve as constructive criticism. Above all, you have to think that they can be presented next year. That’s the good thing about Got Talent: It’s a no, but if you want to re-enter… I don’t apologize, because in the end I give my opinion and the rest of my colleagues give theirs. It’s not up to me whether they are eliminated or not.

Sometimes I feel a little bad. Just getting up on stage… It’s true that there is a specific group that I empathize with a lot, and I can’t say which one it is, but I just don’t see the fun in them. I see that my colleagues enjoy it a lot… They say it’s an acquired taste. I’m waiting for them to start making me laugh, but for now…

On a personal note, have you received a “no” that marked you? Has it influenced how you judge?

I use people’s biographies a lot. For example: Uma Thurman was told that she would never be an actress; Cindy Crawford was told that she was no good as a model with that mole she had; They told Rosalía that she wasn’t. It’s not so much about people validating you, because we can definitely make mistakes. But being given constructive criticism often helps you improve whatever your art is.

You enter to occupy a chair that Edurne left vacant. How do you deal with criticism or comparisons?

My colleagues asked me that question on the first day. Edurne is fantastic, she is a great professional, and I have not come to compete with her. It’s me, she has been the judge, and we are different. Edurne would have her opinion, and I would have mine.

My mother asked me why I didn’t participate in another program. But they’re not going to catch me there in life

You talk about talent, and the truth is that you are developing an increasingly broad television talent, which in fact has you present on other networks. Have there been any incompatibility problems in that regard?

[Nota editor: la entrevista se hizo un jueves, jornada en que colabora con El Hormiguero] Today we will know, because I have to fly out of here and get to the other set [risas]. There has been no problem.

What does your environment tell you about this experience on ‘Got Talent’?

I can’t say it because it’s from another network, but my mother asked me why I didn’t participate in another program… But they’re never going to catch me there. But I can’t tell it.

And vice versa? What do you tell those around you about what you do and see on ‘Got Talent’?

Well, I come home and tell Íñigo all kinds of things. And the other, like: ‘It’s half past eleven at night, shut up.’ And I: ‘But you won’t believe it: a guy has come from Japan to move a hula hoop.’

Is there any type of talent that you assume you don’t have?

For example, singing. I sing because it makes me happy, but not exactly for those around me. That’s in the Iglesias gene. I love listening to people who have musical talent, but I lack it. God gives and takes away.

In any case, you didn’t cook either and you ended up winning ‘MasterChef Celebrity’ and even presenting a cooking show on TVE…

Man, I can practice, but where I’m starting from is already complicated. [risas] It’s a joy to see other people’s talents. We are all different and people of all kinds come here to express their talents. There are people who come for a social cause, to publicize a foundation. Not long ago we had a boy whose little sister had died and he came to tell this story. There are people who get on stage who have a lot of merit, even if their talent as such is not impressive.

Would you like to remain involved in a next season?

Hopefully. I’m enjoying it a lot. You never know until you start if you are going to fit in, and I have felt very good with my teammates and the team. Being performances it doesn’t take long either because there is a gigantic diversity. I’m enjoying it. I hope they count on me for another season.
