Five members of a family were murdered after a kidnapping, an event that five minors survived, in the coastal province of Manabí, located in western Ecuador, the local press reported this Friday.
Based on police sources, the digital media Primicias reported that on Thursday they found five bodies, with gunshot wounds, in the south of the province of Manabí.

The incident occurred on the Puerto López-Santa Elena road, passing the tourist beach of Ayampe.
“In crude images of what happened you can see the bodies piled up on the vegetation”he pointed out, pointing out that, at the moment, little is known about the incident.
However, Primicias adds that due to confidential information to which it accessed, “a man was found asking for help on the road, possibly a kidnapping victim, in this area.”
After verifying the alert, the Police took information from the man, who indicated that he was staying in a hotel in the city of Puerto López (Manabí).
The man reported that even at the site “A group of people arrived, approximately 20 individuals, who had entered the room where they were staying and proceeded to take their phones, documents and other belongings.”
Then, they proceeded to tie him up and take him, five adult relatives, and five minors blindfolded to an unknown destination. They later shot the adults, the victim said.
“The Police confirmed that the minors were rescued”points out the digital media without further details, while the Police have not offered public information on the matter.
