Claudio el Turco García is on vacation in Miami. While taking advantage of his days off, the former soccer player made the decision to be baptized in a pool by a pastor. The images were shared on social networks.
The former Huracán, Vélez and Racing forward had his baptismal ceremony in an outdoor pool and led by Pastor Milad Soleiman. The event included an immersion ritual that symbolizes spiritual cleansing and renewal, common practices in this type of religious ceremonies in which a spiritual rebirth is sought.
“For me it is a pleasure and an honor to be able to baptize in the waters a person that I always watched and admired in football, and today I can hand him over to Christ. Turkish, this is going to be a blessing”said the pastor, while holding García’s shoulder.
After praying together, the athlete repeated: “Lord Jesus, through this prayer I give you my heart and accept you as my God and my savior. Write my name in the book of life and on the day I die, when I open my eyes, I can gain a place in the kingdom of heaven, and I am baptized in the name of the Son, the Father and the Holy Spirit.”
Then the immersion took place and finally, both completed the baptism with a heartfelt hug while those present applauded.
