The Islamist movement Hamas released a video this Saturday in which they appear, alive, two of the Israeli hostages who have been held hostage in the Gaza Strip since last October 7.
The Israeli Forum of Families of Hostages and Missing Persons identified the hostages as Omri Miran47 years old, and Keith Siegel64, kidnapped during the deadly raid by Islamist commandos in southern Israel.
The hostages seem to express themselves under duress. “I’m here in Hamas captivity since 202 days. The situation is unpleasant, difficult, and there are many bombs“says Miran, which would indicate that the images were taken earlier this week.
“It’s time to reach an agreement that will get us out of here safely… “Keep protesting, so that there is an agreement now,” he adds.
The Israeli Forum considered it important for Benjamin Netanyahu’s government to enter into negotiations with Hamas with a view to achieving a truce in the midst of the conflict taking place in Gaza, and to increase its reinforcements to capture all the hostages.
“The proof of life of Keith Siegel and Omri Miran It is the clearest evidence that the Israeli government must do everything possible to approve an agreement for the return of all hostages before Independence Day. (on May 14)”, he pointed.
“The living must return for recovery and those killed must receive a dignified burial,” he added.
In the October 7 attack, Islamist commandos kidnapped about 250 people, about a hundred of whom were freed during a week-long truce in late November. Israel estimates that 129 remained in Gaza, 34 of whom have since died..
This video was broadcast three days after another that showed another hostage, Hersh Goldberg-Polin, 23 years old.
