The young Landy Párraga, a model and former beauty queen, was a victim of hitmen in Ecuador. He died after receiving several gunshot wounds when he was in a restaurant. In fact, minutes before, she had shared an image of the place on her Instagram account.
Párraga, who was a social communicator, had participated in several pageants in her country, such as América Caribbean Ecuador and Miss Teen Sea Ecuador.

The young woman, 23 years old, had been at a wedding on the night of April 27. Following her habit of sharing snapshots of her life on social networks, she uploaded some images and videos of the event to her stories on the Instagram network, in which she had 138 thousand followers. Additionally, she recorded herself watching fireworks and kissing her boyfriend.
Around noon on April 28, he published an image of his lunch: a seafood meal.

Minutes later, Two hitmen broke into the restaurant where he was located, in a shopping center in the city of Quevedo.
Párraga was standing, accompanied by her partner, and tried to bend down when she saw the two men who rushed at her with firearms, as recorded in the establishment’s security camera video. He received several gunshot wounds and died at the scene.
The subjects, who were wearing masks and caps, fled.
Her boyfriend, identified as José Luis Betancourt and a plastic surgeon by profession, emerged unharmed from the attack.
“Ecuador’s Prosecutor’s Office proceeds with the removal of the body of citizen Landy P. in a commercial premises in #Quevedo, where she was the victim of an armed attack. In addition, he ordered the first steps to determine responsibilities,” said the authority. For now, he has not provided details about the hitman hypothesis.
“You never know when that’s the last photo. I always take the best memories with me. Fly high, Landy,” expressed Leiver Barros, one of his friends, through a message on social networks, upon learning of the death.
Landy Párraga had been mentioned in some chats that the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Ecuador had revealed about the Metastasis Case. They were a series of conversations between Leandro Norero Tigua, a drug trafficker who died in 2022, and Helive Ángulo.
“(She) cannot appear for anything. My dear please, where my wife goes out with something of hers I’m screwed (sic),” Norero had written to Ángulo, as reported by local media.
The former queen had not spoken about these mentions.
