A fatal accident It was recorded at dawn on April 29 in Celendinprovince of Cajamarca. There, a interprovincial busstill for reasons unknown to the authorities, fell into a 300-meter-high abyss.

“The mayor, the councilors, officials and servants extend their deep regret for the death of our countrymen in the fateful accident in the district of Sorochuco,” they stated in the publication.
The tragic incident has not been foreign to the central government authorities. The president of the Council of Ministers, Gustavo Adrianzenexpressed himself through his X account, a platform formerly known as Twitter, to regret what happened and guarantee the care of patients for emergency law.
“I deeply regret the death of 25 people in a traffic accident in Celendín, Cajamarca. It has been arranged, through the Ministry of Health (Minsa) and the Diresa Cajamarca, patient care is guaranteed by emergency law,” their post reads.
Likewise, he stated that the members of the National Police of Peru (PNP) supported, from the first moment, in the rescue and transfer of the injured. Work that continues to this day in search of finding more survivors and recovering all the bodies.
“The Ministry of Transportation and Communications (TCM), through Sutran, coordinates with the GORE Cajamarca so that, within the framework of its powers, it adopts the corresponding measures in relation to responsibility for this fateful accident that occurred, which mourns so many Peruvian families,” concluded the premier’s comment
According to the Regional Health Directorate (Diresa) from Cajamarca, of the total number of deaths, eight are female, while the rest are male. There are three minors on the list:

Also, Oyola Eder Cerna Acuña, superficial trauma that affects various parts of the body (moderate); Milagritos Campos Medina, superficial trauma affecting the head and neck (mild); Pedro Lozano Rodríguez, fracture of the femur (serious); María Margarita Escalante Huamán, fracture of other specified cervical vertebrae (moderate).
The Second Criminal Prosecutor’s Office of Celendín requested the preliminary arrest of the driver of the major motor vehicle with plate C3R952 who fell into an abyss on the road to Sorochuco.
Through the official account of X del Public ministrythe request was made for the flagrante detention of Maximo Ortiz Marchena. The driver will be investigated as the alleged perpetrator of the crimes of manslaughter and negligent injuries, to the detriment of the victims of the car accident.
For its part, the National Police reported that it continues with the rescue efforts in the accident that occurred, as well as the urgent procedures to clarify the facts.
