FEUC asks the university to break relations with Israeli universities in the face of the conflict in Gaza

In the midst of the conflict that is being experienced in the Gaza Stripthe Federation of of the Catholic University (FEUC) requested the university to break relations with Israeli universities.

“As FEUC board, having heard the call of the students of the Community of our university (…) We declare our support for the university protestswho seek to put an end to the injustices perpetrated against the Palestinian People“, the students stated in a statement.

Along these lines, they highlighted the commitment of UC students to human rights. Which “drives us to raise our voice in support of those whose rights have been violated for decades.”

“The actions that demand justice for the Palestinian People “They are not only a call for global awareness, but a cry for a definitive and fair solution to a long-term humanitarian situation,” they added.

Due to the above, the statement reiterates the need for the university to break relations with Israeli universities that have expelled and persecuted to Palestinian academicsespecially with the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

“We strongly condemn that the UC maintains links with institutions that are directly or indirectly involved in war crimes (…) We call on our university to lead by example, to be on the right side of historyon the side of Human Rights, and put those who suffer first,” they noted from the FEUC.
