A chilling event keeps the community of Uttara Kanada, district of India, in suspense after A woman threw her six-year-old son into a river full of crocodiles. According to the first investigations, her mother would have had a strong argument with her husband about the boy’s health status, since he was mute and had difficulty communicating.
The couple, who also have a two-year-old baby, frequently argued about the same topic, neighbors reported to Times of India.

In that fight, Ravi Kumar, the 27-year-old father, reportedly questioned the decision to continue raising a boy with a disability and, in an escalation of violence, suggested to his wife several times that “I would throw the baby in the trash”.
According to police sources, the mother – Savitri Kumar (26) – took her eldest son in her arms and threw him into a sewage canal that connects directly to the Kali River, known to be full of crocodiles.
After the neighbors alerted the authorities, a group of officers arrived at the scene and, with the help of some witnesses and specialized divers, began a search operation to locate the boy. However, since it was night, the darkness prevented them from continuing with the search and they had to suspend it.

The next morning, the Police found the boy’s body, which had serious wounds and bites throughout the body, as well as the absence of a hand. Although the first investigations suggest that the victim died due to an animal attack, Justice ordered an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death, since they suspect that the parents would have murdered him before throwing him into the water.

In an interview with local media, Savitri stated: “My husband is responsible. He kept telling him to let our son die because he said all he did was eat. ‘Leave him alone,’ I replied. How much torture could my son endure? But he kept telling me to let him die.”
While investigations into the incident continue, both the father and mother remain detained.
