A Japanese company has requested the recall of about 104,000 packages of sliced bread after rat body parts were found in two of them, the company said.
The product in question is a Pasco brand sliced bread, a popular breakfast product in Japan, specifically the five and six slice versions, and which can be found in most supermarkets in the Asian country. This bread is produced in a factory in Tokyo.

The company would also have suspended the production of this bread for the moment in order to investigate the causes of the contamination and strengthen measures against this type of accident.
“We deeply apologize for the inconvenience caused to our customers. business partners and all interested parties. Please note that there have been no reports of health damage so far,” the company continued in the statement.

These types of events are very rare in Japan, where there is tight control over hygiene in the production chains.
