“We need all countries to have a plan for 2025 and to advance in its application by 2030,” he stressed, after revealing that only 57 countries have developed one so far.

He added that its benefits must reach everyone, including women, indigenous peoples, young people and those most vulnerable to the climate impacts that are hitting right now.

At another point, he acknowledged that there is “a long and steep road ahead” to achieve the common goal of limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees this century.

“We are heading for about 2.7 degrees. This is still ruinously high,” she noted.

However, he encouraged the participants by recognizing the work carried out over the last 30 years and the results obtained, without which, he stated, “we would be doomed to global warming of up to five degrees, which most of us would probably not be able to survive.” The humanity”.
