Ukraine would have begun to use weapons provided by NATO in Russian territorythis after the authorization of several countries to use the artillery sent to defend themselves, even within the territory of Russia.

The first recorded attacks would have been using the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS), making use for the first time of the permission granted by the US and other Western allies for this purpose.

The information was confirmed on June 3 by the Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Reintegration of the Occupied Territories, Irina Vershchuk. But she did not specify the type of weaponry used or its specific origin. She only claimed that they were Western troops. It was the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) in Washington, which using geolocated information confirmed that the weapons used would be American.
