The Prosecutor’s Office is investigating the accident in which the Quito model Andrea Peñaherrera died, since possibly there were more people in the vehicle where she had an accident and died.
Paco Delgado, the prosecutor in charge of the case, stated that according to what the traffic agent who attended the scene of the incident told him, there were more people in the vehicle, but the person driving was the woman who died.
“The agent indicated that he had made contact with a third person at the Rodríguez Zambrano hospital who told him that there were more people circulating in the vehicle. It is worth mentioning that when the agent arrived at the scene he alone came across the scene of the young lady who was on the road alone,” he explained.
Model dies in traffic accident in Manta
The prosecutor stated that the agent will inform him of all this in a news report to begin the investigations of the case, starting from a traffic accident.
Peñaherrera died early Sunday, June 23, in Manta when the car he was traveling in fell into a ravine. The accident occurred on the road that connects the rural parishes of San Mateo and Santa Marianita.
She was 23 years old, she lived in Manta and her father was a judicial official from Portoviejo, originally from Quito.

Prosecutor Delgado also added that the autopsy revealed that the woman died from a blow to the head due to the accident. Added to this are other vestiges of the event.
“Any trace of abuse that he may have received is ruled out, evidently the death was due to a traffic accident, according to the expert,” stated the judicial official.
The companion who was traveling with the model was identified as Jhosué Morante Crespo. He is recovering in a nursing home.
