Under the motto “Territories that innovate: cities that transform”more than 250 national and international specialists will meet this Wednesday the 26th and Thursday the 27th in a new international edition of Smart City Expo World Congress, the most influential event on urban innovation that will take place in the Forum Convention Center of the city of Santiago del Estero.

The opening will be on Wednesday at 9 in the morning and will be attended by Governor Gerardo Zamora and the CEO of Fira Barcelona International, Ricard Zapatero. Then, Mateo Salvatto will give the opening talk entitled “Changing the world, within everyone’s reach.” At 10:15, the director of the Innovation and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory of the UBA, Juan Corvalán, will invite you to reflect on Generative AI and the Commoditization of Knowledge, presenting strategies to transform organizations and manage existential crisis scenarios.

At 11 the panel “Transforming communities: strategies for social inclusion” will begin with Agustín Salvia (UCA Social Debt Observatory), María Eugenia Di Paola (UNDP), Juan Maquieyra (TECHO Argentina), Diego Tipping (Argentine Red Cross) and Eduardo Agudelo (CAF). At 12:30 the panel “Knowledge Economy and transformation of cities” will continue with Claudio Madriaza Miranda (Lenovo México), Lorena Zicker (Amazon Web Services), María de los Ángeles Apolito (AM2 CONSULTING SRL) and Carolina Bustos.

At 2:15 p.m., “New female leadership for a new economy” will be presented with Lina Anllo (Women Economic Forum) and Laura Polonsky (Fundación Flor). At 2:45 p.m., the panel “Smart Mobility Strategies” will be attended by Grace Quintana (Bogotá, Colombia), Martín Torilo (Corven Group), Carlos Alberto Cascio (INTI) and Eduardo Kromberg (Toyota). Subsequently, there will be talks on Govtech: Intelligent management and public innovation, and tourist destinations.

At 4:45 p.m. the session “Intendants of the Great Argentine North” is scheduled. At 6:00 p.m. you can participate in the panel “Shared strategies to promote sustainable development” with architect Verónica Colman (Nature4cities Program – Uruguay), Rodrigo Rodríguez Tornquist (Fundación 21), Facundo Armas (Globant), Fabián Gaioli (Coralia Environmental ) and Matías Daniel Lince (IDB).

The closing of the first day will be given by the director of the Department of Life Sciences (ITBA), Fabricio Ballarini, with a presentation on how to improve educational practices based on knowledge of the brain, at 7 p.m.

It should be noted that the 2024 edition has a significant presence of universities from all over the country, including: ITBA (Buenos Aires Institute of Technology), UCA, Universidad Austral, Faculty of Architecture, Design and Urban Planning of the UBA (FADU), Faculty of UBA Engineering UBA Faculty of Economics (FIUBA), Faculty of Economic Sciences University of Buenos Aires, GITIA (Research Group on Advanced Computer Technologies), National Technological University, Tucumán Regional Faculty and Siglo 21 University, counting the event with an exclusive space for local study houses: National University of Santiago del Estero (UNSE) and Catholic University of Santiago del Estero (UCSE).

In its third edition in Santiago del Estero, Smart City Expo not only opens a new headquarters, the emblematic Forum, but also reaffirms its commitment to promoting different initiatives in order to accelerate the Latin American transition towards intelligent, productive, sustainable and focused urban and rural districts in people. In addition to promoting the international insertion of the region, and promoting collaboration and multiplying employment and development opportunities for human capital in Latin America.

With the support of the Government of Santiago del Estero, the event is organized in conjunction with FIRA Barcelona International and the Smart City Expo World Congress.
