Such determination was adopted after the majority of state meetings voted in favor of the proposals made by the Government of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, regarding salary adjustments.
The category must sign the terms of the agreement on Wednesday, together with the Ministries of Management and Innovation (MGI) and the Ministry of Education (MEC).
However, the end of the strike, which will be 70 days old on Monday, does not directly imply a return to the classrooms.
Each federal university and institute has the necessary autonomy to decide when the first school semester ends and when the second begins.
Some establishments intend to return this week. Others, at most, until July 3.
Also this Sunday, the National Union of Federal Servers of Basic, Professional and Technological Education (Sinasefe) decided to end the strike.
The entity represents teachers and technical-administrative schools who work in federal schools, such as Don Pedro II, in Rio de Janeiro, and in federal institutes that offer technical courses for young people in high school.
Although the inaction was put to an end, the administrative technicians of higher education in the federal network continue to strike.
The Federation of Unions of technical-administrative workers in education of public higher education institutions in Brazil (Fasubra), which represents the category, requested a new round of negotiations to analyze the document sent to the MGI and the MEC, on June 21 .
In its demand, the entity states that “based on the return of the consultation made to the base, it requests improvements in the proposal presented by the Government, continuity of dialogue and scheduling of new meetings, to define the points presented.”
For administrative technicians, the Government proposed a salary adjustment of nine percent in January 2025 and five in April 2026. There are also improvements for the appreciation of the career.
The teachers also accepted the proposal to modify the salary for 2025 and 2026. Each professional level has a different percentage.
