The Colombian woman says that not everything was as she thought, that going on vacation was one thing and living there full-time was quite another, arguing that nothing should be idealized.

“Let’s talk about something seriously and it’s how overrated I had Italy and how undervalued I had Colombia. I came to live approximately three months ago, almost four months ago here in Italy, and I feel that living here was too overrated,” says the young woman on her social networks.

He continues his explanation by asking himself: “In what sense? I felt like everything was perfect here, which it wasn’t. I felt like everything was horrible or not enough for me in Colombia. And I feel that the fact of living here and not just coming on vacation, gives you a different perception, both of your country and the country you are living in.”

Similarly, the woman assures that nothing should be idealized in life, because the experiences are one’s own and it can happen the other way around or with anything: “European people may idealize Latin America, The lesson is not to idealize absolutely anything, not to idealize Latin America, not to idealize Europe, not to idealize men, not to idealize absolutely anything. Because yes, it is a beautiful country, but it also comes up against many differences, we definitely have to stop idealizing it.”
