Damián Ontivero and Bruno Batisttela have had different paths in their lives, but they both found themselves in the art world and in the gallery Space.

The two artists dDuring the month of June they graduated from the School of Fine Arts “Dr. Raúl G. Villafañe” (ESBA) will exhibit at the Bv. July 9, 1844 during June.

I have been working in art for about 20 years. I started exhibiting, offering workshops, participating in individual exhibitions. Through group exhibitions I always liked to organize and help people who sometimes did not dare to show themselves and I found new talents, there is a whole new generation of artists,” he told The newspaper.

Now he is focused on working with pencil and drawing, but previously he had spearheaded a series of oil paintings that matured over 4 years.

Regarding the works selected for the exhibition he said: “It is an intervened work, it is drawings, collage, paintings and there is a mixed technique. I always work with neighborhood themes, I like perspective and I take a lot of what the walls, houses are, and sometimes when I look at the neighborhoods I can understand each one’s perspective, obviously it is an interpretation of what I have seen and where I have been.

Ontivero has been working in the art world for 20 years.

Fancy

Batisttela presents opposite works, in his case he prefers to draw inspiration from alternative scenarios linked to fantasy and fiction. Although he is 25 years old, art captured him from a very young age, or as he expressed it in his own words: “Since I was a child I always liked to paint, break, put together and everything related to that.”

In the exhibition you can see paintings, mixed techniques with colors, drawing with graphite pencil and he added: “With the theme I like to create things that are not present, fantasy, fictional characters and imaginary landscapes.”

Bruno studied visual arts teaching and is currently a primary school teacher. During these last years he has participated in exhibitions with other San Francisco artists at the Cultural Center and the ESBA.

He is mainly dedicated to working with expressive forms based on drawing and painting using materials such as pencils and graphite, watercolors, oil paint and acrylics.

I am attracted to creating images that challenge reality, using impossible volumes and the distorted human figure.“he commented.

Bruno, in addition to dedicating himself to art, is a teacher at a primary school.
