Amazon’s Audible and Pottermore Publishing, the global digital publisher of Rowling’s Wizarding World, will co-produce a new audiobook series for seven original Harry Potter stories. The new audiobooks are scheduled for release in late 2025, and each of the seven English-language titles will be released sequentially to a global audience, exclusively on Audible.

What the new Harry Potter audiobooks will be like

The companies said that the Full-cast audio productions, with more than 100 actors, “will bring these iconic stories to life like never before heard”. The new audiobooks will deliver “immersive audio entertainment through high-quality sound design in Dolby Atmos, stunning music, a full range of character voices, and real-world sound capture,” Audible and Pottermore Publishing said.

The original audiobooks of Harry Potter in one voice, in English, with Stephen Fry and Jim Dale, will continue to be available. They were first published in 1999. Since their launch on Audible in 2015, audiobooks have reached 1.4 billion total listening hours worldwide.

More details about the new Harry Potter audiobooks, including content and production, global release dates, voice casting, and how to access the audiobooks, will be released at a later date. The project is not related to the eight Warner Bros. films that narrate the saga of the boy wizard.

Audible’s Complete Harry Potter Audiobook Collection Includes “The Tales of Beedle the Bard”interpreted by Jude Law; “Harry Potter: A History of Magic” interpreted by Natalie Dormer; “Fantastic beasts and where to find them”interpreted by Eddie Redmayne; and “Quidditch through the ages” interpreted by Andrew Lincoln.
