Jesús Orea, well known as a journalist and writer, is an increasingly recognized poet. The Alcarreño author will present next Saturday, May 11, at 12 noon, his new collection of poems, titled “The silence has fallen”, in the central tent of the capital’s Book Fair, in the Concordia park. The author will be accompanied in the presentation by the director of LA CRÓNICA, Augusto González Pradillo, whom Orea has complained about for both sharing some “oddities,” such as thinking a lot and writing a lot.

This new work by Jesús Orea, which gives continuity in the field of poetry to the trilogy of suites that he has already published —“Comillas Suite”Guadalajara night suite” and “Alcarria Suite”—, is the most personal and intimate of those he has written and represents for him a turn and impulse to this creative stage in which he is experiencing an approach to poetics.

The impulse comes because his new work has been published by “Valparaíso”, a prestigious Granada publishing house specialized in literature and which has an important collection of poetry to which he will now add “The silence has fallen”. Orea’s work will be distributed nationally and internationally, especially in Spanish-speaking American countries, including the United States. Among the latest authors edited by Valparaíso are living and deceased writers of the stature of Charles Baudelaire, Charles Simic, Ángel González, Raquel Lanseros, Eduardo Lizalde and Natasha Tretheway, among others.

“The silence has fallen” is a collection of poems divided into four acts—Logos (Word/Thought), Bios (Life), Eros (Love) and Thanatos (Death)—and is made up of a total of 36 poetic pieces in free verse in which sensations and emotions are reflected. feelings, while reflecting on literature and philosophy.

The collection of poems reveals a knowledge and devotion for the most important poetic generations of the 20th century, beginning with modernism and the 27th, continuing with postism, social poetry, the American beat generation, the Spanish 60s, the very new ones and the currents. current.

The work has been prefaced by a great Spanish poet of recent decades, such as Antonio Hernández, National Poetry Prize in 2014 and Critics’ Prize on two occasions, among many other important awards.

Jesús Orea will also be with his “The silence has fallen” in the 83rd edition of the Madrid Book Fair, which will be held from May 31 to June 16 at its usual location in Retiro Park. There he will sign copies of his work on June 2, Sunday, in the morning, at booth 323, that of the “Valparaíso” publishing house.
