José Ramón Ayllón closes the tenth anniversary of the Readers’ Club in Calatorao with ‘Pacific Groove’THE NEWSPAPER

If we search on the Internet for Pacific Grove, we may see a hotel offer in California or also a book of poetry with which José Ramón Ayllón Guerrero introduces us to time and space towards the west as a promised land, as the place where death and life are hidden. With this work she returns to Calatorao to put the finishing touch to the tenth anniversary of the Municipal Library Readers’ Club.

For the author “‘Pacific Grove’ It is still a physical and real trip through the US where Martin Craig Getz (who is American) was able to record and compose images in some of the places he talks about in the book. and that are projected in the poetic meeting in which Jaime del Adarve, also known as Jaime Bermúdez Escamilla, collaborates.”

A collaborative work

This musician is a composer and pianist from Cordoba who lives in Barcelona. His musical style combines beauty and emotion and his music has left a mark in various areas, from cinema to video games., creating music for films like ‘Downbound Wayfarer’ and video games like ‘Hotel Transylvania’, among others. Jose Ramón Ayllón considers that “’Pacific Grove’ has become a collaborative work that has been very enriching, Between the three of us we have chosen the poems for the presentation, Jaime has composed the music and Martin has put together the images and the cover of the book.”

Although Ayllón has always been a poet, his appearance in the world of letters has been late, which has not prevented him from obtaining numerous awards and recognitions throughout Spain. Winner of the Miguel Labordeta Poetry Prize in 2016 with ‘Climograms of Emotional Station’, Jose Ramón Ayllón has become a whirlwind, with a spectacular poetic production and some forays into prose such as ‘Castillo de Tierra’a novel that sounds like poetry that collects his experiences and memories of his youth in Calatorao.

Source of inspiration

The Aragonese town has become source of inspiration and meeting place with family and friends, where he comes to share his publications or enjoy the traditional events that are periodically held.

So far ‘Pacific Grove’ has been performed in Barcelona and Zaragoza. The next stop will be this Saturday at the Alfredo Longares auditorium in the House of Associations of Calatorao at 8:00 p.m.
