If you only have a few seconds, read these lines:
- A supposed image is circulating on social media showing pop singer Dua Lipa with the book “El camino del libertario” by Argentine President Javier Milei. But this is false.
- This is a manipulated photo. The original image was published in March 2024 on Dua Lipa’s official Instagram account and the book that the artist is holding is the work “Crying in H Mart”, by author Michelle Zauner.
- There are also no records that the content has been shared by Dua Lipa on her official Facebook, Instagram or X profiles.
Circulates on social networks a supposed photo posted by singer Dua Lipa, where she is seen holding the book “The Libertarian Way” by President Javier Milei. “DUA LIPA VIA INSTAGRAM”, it states the post that went viral in recent days with the image of the English composer.
However, This is false. The photo – which had nearly 600 “reposts” and 10 thousand “Likes” through X – is edited. The original image was published on the official Instagram account of the British singer Dua Lipa (@dualipa) in March 2024 and the book that the artist is actually holding is not “The Way of the Libertarian” by Javier Milei, but a work titled “Crying in H Mart” by writer Michelle Zauner.
The misinformation was published in X by the user @ElTrumpista, one of the favorite tweeters of the president.
The photo is edited: the book the artist is holding is another one
A reverse search of the image manipulated in Google shows among its results that, beyond the publication of the user @ElTrumpista in The photograph is not published on other social networks, web portals or news sites. There are also no records that the content has been shared by Dua Lipa on her official Facebook accounts. Facebook, instagram either Xas the viral post states.
Finally, a detailed search in the official Instagram account of the singer (@dualipa) takes to the original image. This is a photograph published on March 18, 2024 where she shows herself holding the book “Crying in H Mart”, by the author Michelle Zauner. “My monthly reading for April is the extraordinary book ‘Crying in H Mart’ by Michelle Zauner”, ensures the artist in the post.
In the post’s description, Lipa details: “This is a book about loss that’s also about love; it’s a book about South Korea that’s also about a small town on the West Coast of America; it’s a story that’s as beautiful as it is heartbreaking; it’s as raw as it is precious. I cried buckets of tears, but I also loved it and I hope you do too. – Dua x” (sic).
